It's been a while but 'Grave of The Fireflies' is up there.
and yeh, Fruits Basket was touchy too. Love that series.
There's several I can list, but here's just some: Video Girl Ai, Gunbuster, 12 Kingdoms, and Fushigi Yuugi..
